This term we will be developing our understanding of applying our phonics skills to reading and writing activities.

We will begin our term by using our sounds to record what makes us amazing. We will then be developing this through writing labels, lists and captions inspired by the text "Dogger" by Shirley Hughes. 

Following on from this we will begin our first narrative unit on the same text. We will story map the story, talk about the plot, characters, language used and begin sequencing the key events from the story. 

We will have additional handwriting lessons daily to help us to practice our letter formation and we will then apply this in all of our written work.
